As a fully committed
Breeding and Research Facility it is our commission
to continue refining and perfecting the breed by
moving forward and so we retire our Breeding dogs
when they are still quite young or allow them out to
other breeders, once we have their progeny to breed
on with into the next generation. Numbers are
kept to a minimum at RM which allows each one
to live as a much loved individual either here or
with one of our carefully selected Guardian Homes.

Profiled. Rutland
Manor does not inbreed
nor does it heavily line
breed. Line
breeding and In Breeding
are often done in the
pursuit of pre-potency
or consistency in 'pure
breeds'. In 'Pure'
Breeds, an inbreeding
co-efficient of 30% is
considered low and
acceptable.
RUTLAND MANOR has
a self imposed benchmark
maximum of
10% co - efficient and more
usually between 1% and
3%. and has achieved
this without resorting
to inbreeding, via
carefully selected
outcross infusions at
appropriate intervals
and for appropriate
reasons over twenty one
years in our breeding
program.

Each couple of
years, as youngsters approach
breeding age, some of their young
parents become available to other
breeders. This time is now
approaching again to make way for
the up and coming youngsters to
continue the Rutland Manor
tradition. If you are a caring
and conscientious breeder and
willing to desex your pet puppies
before they leave you, please feel
welcome to make inquiries regarding
proven young breeding dogs for your
own program.
