Rutland Manor ASD Labradoodles  Travel to 18 Countries Across the World    !

Rutland Manor Puppies have been travelling across the globe since 1998.   I was as nervous as a kitten when I first agreed to send a puppy overseas.  But based on my experience and studies in canine behavior I developed a method of preparation and pre-conditioning that has been so successful over the years, that  the most frequent comment when the puppies  step out of their travel crate on the other side of the world, is one of astonishment and goes something like this...."This is amazing.... It is as if he / she has only come from around the block" !

Obviously, no amount of preparation at Rutland Manor would help if the puppies did not receive the best of care along the way.    Rutland Manor works  within a teamship spirit with the shipping company DOGPORTERS INTERNATIONAL and  comfort stop.    As further back up,  IATA,  (worldwide regulatory body over international travel of live creatures)   enforces  strict regulations which govern the comfort safety and health of live creatures of all species as they traverse the globe.

Rutland Manor puppies and dogs do NOT  fly in the cargo hold but enjoy the same air conditioned comfort in the livestock area as do the human passengers.  Water and food containers are attached to their travel crate doors and they have soft absorbent bedding to sleep on.

Most human passengers fly sitting up in small cramped seats.  Rutland Manor puppies fly  in air conditioned comfort in the strict  IATA regulated equivalent of FIRST CLASS in travel crates large enough for them to stand up, stretch, lie down full length and have a relaxing sleep during their journey which is just one of the many reasons Rutland Manor puppies  arrive fresh, confident and playful.

Puppies travelling to all parts of North America are passed through Customs by the Comfort Stop  which cleans them and their travel crates up if necessary, rests and refreshes the puppies, feeds and plays with them and puts them on the flight to their  new family's nearest airport if beyond LAX  or hands them over at LAX  whichever is appropriate.

But don't just take our word for it.  Let's share some stories from those who have gone before.

When new puppies arrive across the world the Chit Chat Page  is a'flood with

Talulah Rose (Tula) Arrives Ohio 19th April 2007

Our Wanda/Baron puppy arrived this morning!!!!

I can not tell you how beautiful our Tula is! She traveled half-way around the world and arrived in Columbus, Ohio at 6:15 this morning.

"She came out of her crate immediately, wagging her tail, alert and happy...giving licks and wiggles and waving her paw. I must say, she looked much better and was much more active than I was that early in the morning! "

 "Casey"

Arrives in New York 19th April 2007

1:00 A.M. and my wife and I just got home from JFK airport  - 2 hours away. The airport was a bit of an ordeal,  but our little guy appeared and he was fine.

"It's amazing that this 10 week old pup goes half way around the world and he was in better shape than I.  He's absolutely wonderful. I'll write you tomorrow with some details."

We're getting to know and explore everything.  The airport was not easy. A terminal was under construction and no one knew the routines.  After an hour from when the plane ( already 1/2 hour late ) came in,  I found someone who went back and retrieved a crate with an adorable set of eyes peering out.

Your suggestion to bring a scissors was most valuable. Upon opening the door, there was a moment of careful reluctance and then he ventured out and I was so pleased at how comfortable and together he was.  We took over a little corner of the airport and gave him a bit of water and a cube of cheese and off we went.  The 2 hour ride was wonderfully relaxed for us all. Casey just lay on my wife's lap chewing a wriglet of rawhide.

He was amazing. When we got home, we let him roam around our front lawns and fed him the chicken, rice, carrot mix. He ate, but only a little. He also had a bit of yogurt.

We then all went to bed with him in an open crate next to the bed. We had one 5 minute episode of yelping, and that was it. This morning there's been a lot of play and adjusting, but we're so pleased.  Casey is very playful, still getting to know his new home, but he seems very happy.  Well  I won't go on, but thanks for your part in this great spiritual experience.

Of course you can quote me or whatever. It's so sincere that I'll be doing people a favor if they are at all reassured by my experience,

"Lily"

Arrives in Good Health and Spirits to Maureen and Richard B in W1 November 2004

Dear Beverley  and Everyone at  Rutland Manor, I have been waiting to write until I could find the right words.

"She has been so well prepared and cared for.  The very long flight from Australia and the flight to us did not seem to faze her in the least - you can't know how I worried about this. "

Lily is absolutely perfect (this is where words fail me).

There are so many small things that we marvel at every day - she is friendly to strangers with out being hyper, she allows herself to be handled easily - paws, a bit of grooming, face washing, etc. , she learned to come and sit in one trial (we still practice a lot), she has not had a single potty accident in the house,  she eats very well,  she responds extremely well to redirection and praise and knows "good girl", she is playful and enjoys her toys, she is willing to go into her crate - at times on her own (but, she would much rather sleep on the kitchen rug) and only protests her crate when she has to go potty, I could go on and on.

Now for the surprises - Lily is far cuter than I had imagined in my wildest dreams.  I was in a bit of shock when I saw her for the first time at the airport.  Your pictures were wonderful, but still do not begin to do justice to how beautiful she is.  I think it has to do with her expression, also.

Thank you, from my family, for this beautiful, beautiful dog!

"Keiko"JJune 2004

"What a puppy you've sent us!  Keiko (formerly Jengo) is a living doll.  It's hard to believe she has just traveled around the world.

"We picked her up at 8:00 this morning and she was waiting for us to get her!  Very happy to see us.  Not scared at all....not jumpy with all the noise.  I don't know how you did it, but she seems not phased by the whole ordeal. "

Hello all,

She is loving and accepts loves like crazy.  She is great with the kids. She is finally resting after a morning of playing (one bathroom outside, one unfortunately inside)Like a baby, she likes her mommy next to her when she sleeps.  As soon as mommy moves, she's up.  I think we might actually get her to nap now!

So, thanks again.  We will send pictures soon so you will see what a loving home you have given her.  Thanks for everything!

Best Regards,
Tricia Sch

Sandy & family were so happy with their experience that they have brought THREE  puppies from Australia to Ohio on three separate  occasions.   Read their story....

Three puppies  travelled  from Australia to the United States to this family....at different times over a year and a half.   The third was a Golden Cream male puppy from Brandy and Rufus, who arrived November 2004. to join his two Australian bred Doodle pals.     Read what Sandy has to say about puppy travel from Australia to the United States of America.

November 7, 2004
To my Dear Friends at Rutland Manor,

By know I feel like we are all old friends, as today I picked up our family's third Australian Labradoodle from Rutland Manor, Milo . You might think I am a seasoned pro by now, but I was a nervous mother once again. Having nearly memorized each leg of the journey, I knew what to expect and when.

When you love your pets like a true member of your family, letting one fly across the globe to join you is a scary proposition. But those worries are relieved by the time and care I well know you put into these babies to get them ready to fly.

"My family greeted him promptly at 6:30 am this morning. Milo bounded out of the crate, tail wagging, clean as a whistle, except for the newsprint on his feet. He was a sight for all the cargo terminal, as people gathered around to see him and pet him."

He is just gorgeous, in true Rutland Manor fashion. He slept the whole way home in the car next to my 5 year old and was greeted by his new doodle family, Ozwald and Matilda.

Matilda Ozwald  &  Milo  relax in true Doodle style shortly after Milo's arrival.

MILO at Nine Months Old

Ozwald

Ozwald is a consummate gentleman, and has been very sweet to little Milo (little, hee hee). Matilda has been very funny with her many verbal comments. She has definitely asserted her place as the Vice President of our Pack. Milo has taken it all as if he were here all along and the whole thing was no big deal.

He is happy and healthy and one of our family already. Thanks so very much to Beverley, and the rest of the RM team for another amazing addition to our family. We couldn't have asked for a better pup, but I say that every time. Your friends across the pond,

The comfort stop fed Milo, they  played with him, made sure he relieved himself, cleaned him up, made sure he rested and was sure to report all of this as well as just how gorgeous he is to me via phone. After a 14 hour flight to LAX on Qantas, and a nice break at the comfort stop in Los Angeles, Milo was ready to journey on to us. He hopped the red eye to Cleveland , Ohio .

"TEDDY"

to Vicki, Michael and Valicia in New Jersey May 2003

Teddy and Valicia ( my very gentle 4 year old) are already shadows. If she leaves the room he is right with her. He seems to already own us, if any of us go to another part of the house he seems to be wondering where we went. What a gentle puppy, so peaceful and loving we are just completely in awe of our Teddy.

"Oh My... we were greeted by the most amazing, gentle beautiful boy "our chocolate Teddy" this evening in Newark, New Jersey.

He was SO excited to see us and timid for about a second. We were delighted to meet two other proud families there to receive their bundles of joy. The puppies are all so beautiful and doing great for such a long trip. You can tell they were (and are) very loved. "

His eyes are just gorgeous, they say it all, we have been blessed with a beautiful soul. We can already see that we have been given the perfect puppy for our family and our needs. We leave for Florida in a few weeks where we will be taking care of my mother who is in a wheelchair and significantly handicapped.

Teddy will be a real blessing for her as well. As I sign out, Teddy and Valicia have fallen to sleep, he is on the floor right beside her bed and she is in her bed her hand hanging down touching his soft fur... hummm guess I'll move him to his crate next potty break. I don't even know how to thank you for giving us such a precious gift. Good Night,

Vicki, Michael, Valicia and Teddy
