"Balou"  Anya and Knossos - ARRIVED NORWAY  June  2008

Dear Beverley,

It was a long travel for Balou but he came out of his crate so happy and after he firstly greeted Birgit , greeted he afterwards Marnix and Tobias and then us. There was immediately a loving friendship of both sides. He is just perfect, everything we hoped for. Kind, pleasant, very beautiful and already a large friend of Birgit. When we came home he ran around in the house as if he knew it already. Not at all frightened, but happy that he came HOME.

He sleeps deliciously beside the bed of Birgit. As from the first night at us he has slept quietly without crying because he left his family. It really felt as if he considered us immediately as his new family. He walks behind me as if I am his mother and plays with the children as if they are his brothers and sisters. We are all super happy with him.

He is already now very special for Birgit, thank you so much Beverley. I let you how it goes with Balou and with Birgit.

Warm regards of a happy and very grateful family.

Much love from Birgit, Marieke, Frans, Tobias, Marnix and Balou.

"Daisy" Anya and Knossos - Arrived  MARYLAND USA  June 2008

Hi Beverly, Helen, Elizabeth and Fred!

Daisy arrived safely in Maryland at noon today (Thursday) Boy is she full of energy!!  I can't even imagine traveling for as long as she did!

She was slightly unsure at the airport bringing her out of the cage- and cried a bit in the 15 min. car ride home She was happy to run with the kids in the backyard and play with the hose a bit.  She seems to love running after the kids.

She met the three horses and seemed un-phased!  We gave her a quick bath after the trip - didn't like that tremendously but soon forgot it.

We even had a surprise visitor at the house and she didn't even address them.  She was not sure what a leash was at all at the airport, but we just finished our first official walk and I'm amazed at how well she did!

We are starting our training today as suggested and she's been great. I 'm sure she misses her siblings and mother and we can't wait to give her a sibling of her own breed.   Until then, we'll be her pack.  She is smart!  We officially weighed her at 9lbs. on arrival.....

She played with the kids for about 3 hours - ate, drank, peed and then we all sat down and she slept for awhile Here are some pics - many more to come.....as I am a photographer!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

Day Two 7th June 2008

We had a great many errands to run in the morning and she sat calmly btw. the two kids in the backseat….I put her in a bag to take her into school as it was the kids day to say goodbye to teachers and pick up report cards

Many came up and pet her head to say hi and she did great – no whining no barking -  many did not even know she was in my arms she behaved so well!!!

She’s doing great – last night we kept her in her crate next to our bed and she whined to go out two times and slept the rest of the night – same as night before!

"Tenzin"  Anya and Knossos - Arrived Holland 6th June 2008

Hello all,

I've been meaning to post an update of how things are going since Tenzin's arrival yesterday.

He's a lovely, little confident, cheerful puppy. He came bouncing out of his crate, and immediately began to play with his sister 'Smuis', who has also joined a family in the Netherlands (one of the two black puppies in the litter). I hope we can keep in touch and have play dates in the future. After a quick toilet stop and some food Tenzin was ready for his ride home. He was perky all the way home, dying to explore, rather than sitting still in my lap!!

He's the complete opposite of Jofi, who I now realize was a rather subdued puppy when she arrived - she was shaking as she stepped out of her crate and cried a lot the first days - Tenzin on the other hand seems ready for everything - he didn't bat an eyelid when I vacuumed the floor earlier (the two were playing in the garden and brought rather too much of the garden back inside!) - whereas Jofi always scampers and hides when the vacuum comes out. It's lovely to see two strikingly different personalities - I think they are perfect for one another.

When we first got home, Jofi was clearly very jealous of her new brother and I have to say I was quite worried at first as to how it would go but a day and a half later, harmony is restored and they are enjoying one another's company. Tenzin is settling in fast, making us giggle with his antics. I love it how he melts in our arms when we pick him up to give him a cuddle - he's a real cuddle-bug. He's such a cutie pie, we love him!!
He's a lot smaller than Jofi was at 9 weeks - Jofi was about 6.8kg whereas Tenzin is 4.7kg - but he has a good appetite! Will he likely mature to a standard despite being so petite? I'm hoping they both end up about the same size when they're both fully grown up.

Yes Libby, he will be a big boy too!   Beverley.
