Knossos was bred by Suzanne Butz in the
Southern Highlands of New South Wales
Australia and I am indebted to her for
this wonderful young dog. From the
first moment I looked into Knossos' eyes
as a baby of around ten weeks old, I
sensed that here was a very special boy.
He has amazing translucent eyes with
that hallmark of the top Ausralian
Labradoodle, of gazing right into your
very soul. Knossos was born in
October 2006 and is already leaving his
mark on his puppies, who all have his
keen intuitive mind and cheeful loving
nature.
Knossos is a Medium sized dog, who has
the handy attribute of being able to
breed either Mediums, Miniatures or
Standards depending on which female he
is bred to. With his miniature
lines on one side of his pedigree and
his Standards on the other he could have
been any size, but he matured right in
the middle as a nice sized Medium.
His coat is soooo soft and is a gorgeous
spiral fleece. By blending Knossos
with our IRISH Soft Coated Wheaten
infused lines, it is exciting to see
what is happening with the additional
benefits of the progeny of the Irish
Water Spaniel just a few generations
behind him also. After so
many years of planning, trial and error,
and their surges of disappointment and
elation along the way, I now feel so
happy with the stage of the Rutland
Manor breeding program. I take no
personal credit for this. So much
of what I have been privileged to see in
my lifetime with the development of the
breed which is my passion, is really
just a succession of blessings,
sometimes hidden in a cloud of
heartbreak just so that I will continue
to appreciate them!
The
Therapy Dog blood which has become
legendary in the Australian Labradoodle
flows into Rutland Manor's breeding
program through Knossos' maternal
grandmother who links to Tegan Park Cool
Dude
Read
Dude's Story via the Irish
Water Spaniel infusion in around 1997.
At
long last, the infusions of the Irish
Water Spaniel, and the IRISH Soft Coated
Wheatens have proven themselves and I
feel confident to weave them into other
unrelated lines.
